Nataki Gregory Appointed Chief Executive Officer and Marcus Blanks Appointed President/Chief Operating Officer
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 31, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ — CT3, a leading teacher training and education leadership organization, announced today the immediate promotion of Nataki Gregory, Ed.D., to chief executive officer and Marcus Blanks to president and chief operating officer. The company, which serves schools and districts around the country, focuses on improving the quality and culture of education for youth, especially those in traditionally disenfranchised communities.
Gregory will be responsible for shaping CT3’s internal and external culture and driving toward the organization’s mission and vision. She will also define what CT3’s work looks like through an anti-racist lens and the ways the organization will strive to implement anti-racism efforts with its partners. Blanks will lead business operations and oversee the implementation of CT3’s newly defined growth strategy.
“Nataki is a tireless advocate for education and has dedicated her life to raising the level of teaching and learning in every school she’s been a part of,” says Kristyn Klei Borrero, CT3’s co-founder and author of “Every Student Every Day”. “Marcus brings exceptional business operations and strategic-planning experience from his highly successful career at Procter & Gamble.” Klei Borrero will manage strategic partnerships and will continue her advocacy for anti-racism efforts in education through writing and speaking engagements.
About Nataki Gregory and Marcus Blanks
Gregory, in her fifth year with CT3, began her education career as a teacher in District of Columbia public schools and then served in a variety of roles around the country, including principal, professional development director, and chief academic officer. She has worked with teachers and leaders in many school districts during her time with the organization.
“The CT3 team is second to none, both in terms of their experience as educators on the front lines and in their commitment to walk directly toward the most pressing challenges in education today,” says Gregory. “Those include dismantling racist systems and elevating the achievements and opportunities of the most marginalized students. Marcus and I consider it an honor to lead this team — and the teachers and students we serve — to new heights.”
Blanks, who joined CT3 in 2019, spent 13 years at Procter and Gamble, where he was responsible for leading and growing some of the world’s most recognizable consumer brands. His large-scale operations and business planning experience has helped define an exciting new growth strategy at CT3. “The need for our work has never been more apparent as American society faces the reality of racial inequality amidst a pandemic,” says Blanks, adding, “I am proud of and energized by the agility of our team to counter these challenging times with innovation that will increase the impact and reach of our mission.”
Gregory and Blanks’ histories, both professional and personal, will further inform CT3’s anti-racism direction in a meaningful and mindful manner, notes Klei Borrero. “This approach underscores our commitment to contributing to the conversation from a first-person perspective while proactively addressing systematic beliefs that are long overdue for change,” she says.
Founded in 2009, CT3 delivers transformative classroom engagement and leadership coaching through its evidence-based No-Nonsense Nurturer® model and its uniquely powerful Real Time Teacher Coaching® programs. CT3’s efforts have moved the needle in hundreds of schools across the country, resulting in double-digit decreases in out-of-school suspensions, gains in graduation rates, and increased teacher retention.
In addition to implementing its anti-racism pivot, CT3 will launch Virtual Real Time Teacher Coaching, a body of work to support teachers with their transition from traditional to virtual classroom settings this fall.
CT3 serves schools and districts around the country. The organization is adept at immediately and sustainably shifting practices and improving school quality. Just as importantly, CT3 has achieved a level of racial diversity and equity that few, if any, education companies have accomplished, with 60% people of color and 65% women.
