Persad-Tirone receives $2,500 in financial support to pursue his academic ambitions.

FORT MYERS, FL, October 28, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Viles & Beckman Foundation, Inc., in connection with Viles & Beckman, LLC continually strives to celebrate students who go above and beyond to pursue their dreams. This year, Jordan Persad-Tirone stands out from the rest.

Persad-Tirone represents his family as its first soon-to-be college graduate. He has undergone significant personal growth, including a reassessment of his self-worth, to become the man he is today. In his scholarship essay, he outlines his humble roots: a middle child who stepped up when his older brother’s achievements were marred by drug addiction.

Persad-Tirone went to college in his brother’s stead with the opportunity to assume a full-ride football scholarship. In the face of team negativity, though, Persad-Tirone stepped away from football, forcing himself to confront the new stresses of adulthood without a cornerstone of his young adult identity.

Fortunately, according to his essay, Persad-Tirone rapidly found his footing again. He began to coach football in Hendry County. He also interned with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, allowing him to recenter himself in his faith. Today, he continues to teach young students how to play football while also encouraging them to find their value on and off the field.

Persad-Tirone’s scholarship essay details a collegiate career filled with doubt and injuries but one that’s also centered on continual personal development. Even in the face of his brother’s untimely passing, Persad-Tirone has continued to prioritize his opportunities to improve his life.

The Viles & Beckman Foundation recognizes the onslaught of obstacles Persad-Tirone has overcome to reach his final year of college. It’s in the face of Persad-Tirone’s personal flexibility and commitment to personal growth that the firm awards him the $2,500 Marcus W. Viles “Community Growth” scholarship.

The Viles & Beckman Foundation recently renamed this scholarship the Marcus W. Viles “Community Growth” scholarship in honor of late partner, Marcus Viles. Viles passed in early 2023 after dedicating his life to building the Viles & Beckman Foundation from the ground up.

When the foundation reported Viles’ death on LinkedIn, it went on to say:

“As we mourn the loss of Marcus, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the profound impact he had on all of us. His memory will forever remain an inspiration as we continue to serve our clients with the same level of dedication, compassion, and excellence that Marcus exemplified.”

The team at Viles & Beckman Foundation, Inc. alongside the personal injury attorneys at Viles & Beckman, LLC applauds Persad-Tirone’s dedication. All parties that believe his efforts truly embody the growth that Marcus Viles brought into the world. The foundation looks forward to seeing what goals Persad-Tirone achieves in the years to come.
